I used to see nature and architecture as separate from one another. Growing up in South Korea, I often felt that buildings stood apart from the landscape. But during my time in Baltimore in 2021, that perspective began to change. The warmth of brick, the subtle colors woven into everyday life, and the individuality of each building made me realize that architecture could exist in harmony with its surroundings. In the balance between alleyways, windows, brick walls, and trees, I found a sense of warmth and traces of time that stayed with me long after. The buildings I encountered in Baltimore felt less like structures and more like landscapes shaped by people and everyday life. Through photography, I wanted to preserve the quiet moments and warmth that remained within them.
